How the Paupanimation Process Works

I guide you step-by-step — from script and storyboard to sound-designed final delivery. Here’s how the process works.

1. Script & Voiceover

You provide a simple script and voiceover (or I can help arrange one if needed). A script is essentially the narration of what you want to communicate. It doesn’t need to be perfect — even notes or rough ideas are enough. From there, I can shape it into a clear voiceover script that will guide the entire animation.

2. First Deliverables (Storyboard Draft)

Within about a week (depending on length), I turn your script into a first draft storyboard. This shows every scene and how the visuals will match your narration. For shorter videos (1–2 minutes) the turnaround is quick, while longer projects may take a little more time. The storyboard also includes a style frame sheet so you can see an early preview of the visual approach.

Style frame

A style frame is a polished snapshot of what the final animation will look like. Here you can see the chosen character design, colour palette, and overall aesthetic. This helps lock in the look and feel before we move forward, making sure everything aligns with your brand and message.

3. Corrections & Revisions

After your feedback, I update the storyboard with any changes needed. For example, in this project we redesigned the main character to be more inclusive and consistent across all scenes. Making revisions at this stage is important, as it ensures the animation phase runs smoothly and avoids bigger changes later.

4. Animation Deliverables

Once the storyboard is approved, I begin animating. For a 3-minute video, this usually involves three animation deliverables sent in parts, so you can follow progress and request minor adjustments along the way. The final delivery includes music, sound effects, and any logos or credits you need. The finished animation is provided in high-quality formats, ready for social media, presentations, or broadcast.
